The school auditorium came alive as the students of Std IX and Std X stepped into the roles of our nation's leaders during a vibrant Mock Parliament Session. The students of Std IX represented the Ruling Party, while the students of Std X represented the Opposition, recreating the proceedings of Parliament with remarkable confidence, enthusiasm, and authenticity.
Students portraying Shri Narendra Modi and his Cabinet and Shri Rahul Gandhi along with the Opposition engaged in spirited yet respectful debates on Operation Sindoor and the Education Bill. Their well-researched arguments, thought-provoking discussions, and convincing presentations reflected a commendable understanding of parliamentary proceedings and contemporary national issues.
The Parliament setup was meticulously designed, complete with a Speaker, Ministers, Members of Parliament, and a Press Gallery, creating the ambience of a live parliamentary session. The Speaker skilfully maintained the decorum of the House, while members addressed their questions, viewpoints, and arguments through the Chair, just as in the Indian Parliament. The presence of the press added realism to the proceedings, making the session both engaging and insightful.
The Mock Parliament proved to be an enriching learning experience, fostering critical thinking, public speaking, leadership, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of democratic values. It was a memorable event that enabled every participant and spectator to experience the spirit and functioning of India's parliamentary democracy.
