The Spelling Bee Competition for students of Std. VIII to X was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation. As a maiden attempt, the event received an overwhelming response from the students.
The competition began with a preliminary round conducted in each class, where students were tested on their spelling skills. The top scorers from Standards VIII, IX, and X qualified for the final competition.
The final event comprised three exciting rounds. In the first round, each participant was asked to spell five words. They were allowed to ask for the meaning of the word and its use in a sentence before spelling. Based on their performance, eight participants advanced to the second round, which was a rapid-fire challenge that tested their speed and accuracy. The final round was the Subject Round, where participants chose a subject of their choice and spelled words related to that subject.
The competition witnessed an impressive display of vocabulary, concentration, and confidence as students battled with words with remarkable enthusiasm. It was not only the participants who were deeply engaged; the audience, too, remained captivated, listening attentively and learning the correct spellings and British pronunciation of a variety of words.
The winners were honoured with trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance.
The event proved to be a successful learning experience, promoting language skills, healthy competition, and a deeper appreciation for the English language.
